Dark-haired, boyishly handsome Italian actor who made a notable English-language debut with his role as a racing driver in Grand Prix (1966). Moving into spaghetti westerns and other action films, he was seen in Odio per Odio/Hate for Hate (1967), One Dollar Too Many (1968), Twice a Judas (1968), Barbarella (1968), Diary of a Telephone Operator (1969), Those Who Kill (1970), The Man With the Icy Eyes (1971), Thunder Over El Paso (1972), Gang War in Milan (1973), Calling All Police Cars (1975), 4 Billion in 4 Minutes (1976), War of the Robots (1978), The Treasure of Santa Lucia (1979), Escape from the Bronx (1983), The Wild Team (1985), Bye Bye Vietnam (1989) and High Voltage (1997), his last. He died from coronavirus complications, survived by Yvonne, his wife of 50 years. The actor Antonio Sabato Jr is their son.
