Dulcie Gray

Actress

Born - 20 November 1915, Kuala Lumpur, Malaya (now Malaysia)
Died - 15 November 2011

Pretty, piquant, shapely dark-haired British actress of gamine appeal. A distinguished stage performer and popular author of detective stories, she was also noted for the longevity of her marriage to fellow performer Michael Denison, who died in 1998, a year before their diamond wedding anniversary. Born Dulcie Bailey (some sources say Dulcie Savage), she had soon assumed the the name Gray, and made a (slightly late) start in movies, though the medium never maximised her capabilities: Banana Ridge (1941), the documentary I Want to be an Actress (1943), Madonna of the Seven Moons (1944), They Were Sisters (1945), The Years Between (1946), Wanted for Murder (1946), Mine Own Executioner (1947), My Brother Jonathan (1948), The Glass Mountain (1949), Angels One Five (1951), There Was a Young Lady (1952) and A Man Could Get Killed (1966), her last. She died from bronchial pneumonia a few days before her 96th birthday.
