William A Graham

Director

Born - 15 May 1926, New York City, USA
Died - 12 September 2013

Wry-faced American director who made dozens of TV movies, including some of the best early examples of the genre, but was unable to make a similar mark in the cinema. Graham studied to be a concert violinist for 12 years but by the mid 1950s had begun directing episodes of TV drama, being entrusted with several pilots for long-running series. TV movies that were shown in cinemas include The Doomsday Flight (1966), Then Came Bronson (1969), Birds of Prey (1973) and 21 Hours at Munich (1976). Actual cinema films include Waterhole 3 (1967), Change of Habit (1969), Where the Lilies Bloom (1973), Shark Kill (1976), Harry Tracy - Desperado (1980) and Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991), although he continued making TV movies until Blood Crime, his last, in 2002. He died of complications from pneumonia.
