Loni Nest

Actress/music teacher

Born - 4 August 1915, Berlin, Germany
Died - 17 February 2014

German-born (as Eleanor Nest) of American parents, Nest was a golden-haired child player of silent times, attracting attention in several famous films. Growing up to be a light-haired beauty with distinctive high cheekbones, Nest's adult career had hardly begun when she fled Germany in 1933, returning to her parents' native town of Boston, Massachusetts. Unable to resuscitate her acting career in America, she became a music teacher, an occupation she pursued into her late sixties. Films included The Story of Dida Ibsen (1918), Harakiri (1919), The Golem (1920), Violet (1921), The Pearl of the Orient (1921), The Little Napoleon (1923), Die Freudlose Gasse/Joyless Street (1925), The Saint and Her Fool (1928) and L'Epervier (1933), her last.
