Round-faced blonde American actress (born Monica Freeman) with girlish good looks that had her playing juvenile roles, mostly as hoydenish characters, well into her twenties. A competent, personable if self-effacing actress, she was signed by Paramount in 1944 and soon busy: Double Indemnity (1944), Here Come the Waves (1944), Together Again (1944), Junior Miss (1945), Danger Signal (1945), Black Beauty (1946), That Brennan Girl (1946), Mother Wore Tights (1947), Dear Ruth (1947), Streets of Laredo (1948), Isn't It Romantic (1948), Dear Wife (1949), The Heiress (1949), Branded (1950), I Was a Shoplifter (1950), Dear Brat (1951), The Lady from Texas (1951), Flesh and Fury (1952), Jumping Jacks (1952), Battle Cry (1954), Before I Wake (1954), Dial 999 (1955), The Road to Denver (1955), Hold Back the Night (1956), Huk! (1956), Dragoon Wells Massacre (1957) and The World Was His Jury (1958). Her last appearance was on the small screen in the TV movie Welcome Home, Johnny Bristol (1971). She married (second), small-part actor Jack Ellis, who died in 1992.
