Stuntman/actor

Born - 12 March 1922, Sunderland, England
Died - 22 December 2014

Craggy, brown-haired performer who began as an actor, but later became one of the world's best stuntmen - although he broke many bones in the process. A former amateur jockey, his film acting credits include The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men (1952), Grand National Night (1953), You Know What Sailors Are (1954) and The Unseeing Eye (1959). He began doing stunts in the early 1960s, taking small roles in some of the films on which he worked: You Only Live Twice (1967), The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), The Last Valley (1971), Dead Cert (1974), The Duellists (1977), Moonraker (1979), Eye of the Needle (1981), Octopussy (1983) and Deja Vu (1985). His last acting appearance came in Shooting Fish (1997). His stuntwork ranged from From Russia with Love (1963) and Goldfinger (1964) to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1998. He retired in 2000.
