Only someone who has never seen a film could fail to guess the climactic clinch that wraps up this amiable but eminently easy-to-forget romcom. And even a neophyte might make a considered guess given Queen Latifah (née Dana Owens) is the only name above the title.
Michael Elliots by numbers screenplay has basketball-obsessed hospital physiotherapist Latifah falling for her hero, basketball star Common (né Lonnie Rashid Lynn) after she fixes his potentially career-threatening knee injury. But he soon fancies her luscious long-time friend Patton
Cue assorted and expected romantic triumphs and setbacks, given a watchable sheen by the participants, Elliot, director Hamri and some effectively staged basketball games.
In the final analysis, its basically a case of the bland leading the bland.
