TinkerBell and the Pirate Fairy (3D)
Stars: Voices: Mae Whitman, Tom Hiddleston, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu, Raven-Symone, Anjelica Huston
Director:
Adults with a low tolerance for so-cute-they-arouse-homicidal-tendencies-against-them fairies should bow out of seeing this sweet as a macaroon cartoon feature that, compared with Disneys recent instant classic Frozen, resembles nothing so much as an episode (albeit an entertaining one for a fairy-fond youngsters) in a TV series.
The winged heroine of Peter Pan (voiced by Mae Whitman) returns to save Pixie Hollow from the magical depredations of smart and anarchic fellow fairy Zarina, who creates a new and improved Pixie Dust and then joins forces with the pirates of Skull Rock (including the still two-armed Captain Hook).
Result?
Pixies vs Pirates, decorated by some rousing songs and attractive animation.
President Putin would be rightly jealous of the impressive ice dancing sequences, the 3D filming is fine and vocal casting hits the spot.
Treat the kids. Theyll thank you.
And, just in case, adults may find an iPad would help them enjoy the family outing even more.
