One more time for the perfect heist that soon develops into a Laurel and Hardy-like sequence of disasters. Six men go to a UK airport to check in early for their flight to World Cup football in Germany. Slipping away from the airport before the departure lounge, the six put their plan into operation: ram-raid a bank, steal millions in untraceable banknotes, stash it away and head off for Germany.

We can see that ubiquitous Brit hardman Bell isn't in this just to play a passing taxi-driver and indeed he proves to be the brains behind the raid. Alas, one of the gang is badly injured when their van crashes into the bank, things go wrong in the escape tunnel and the 'sure thing' turns into a race against time.

Events therafter are weightily signposted - falling earth in the tunnel foreshadows a cave-in - and despite one excellent scene, when the claustrophobic co-leader (Salinger) panics after he's trapped by the fall of rubble - much of the caper is like the English rain on a bad day - heavy and prolonged.
