Freelancing, he made Summer Magic (1963), A Tiger Walks (1964), Kitten with a Whip (1964), Three Guns for Texas (1967), Attack at Dawn (1970), Piranha (1972), Foxy Brown (1974), Sunburst (1975), Top of the Hill (1980), The Concrete Jungle (1982), The Messenger (1986), Deathstone (1990), Fists of Iron (1995), Asylum (1997), Wasteland Justice (1999), The Wedding Planner (2001), Hollywood - It's a Dog's Life (2003), Three Bad Men (2005), Hell to Pay (2005), his last, and a huge amount of television. The actress Diane Jergens was the first of his five wives. He died from cancer.
