Auburn-haired, square-jawed, glamorous French actress who had a middling star career in French, British and Hollywood films over a 20-year period. After dance and drama studies, she made a teenage debut in Le Cavalier Noir (1944). She had the title role in Blondine (1945), although the film wasn't released until 1948. Subsequently, she was seen in Pamela (1945), Les Joyeux Conscrits (1948), La Bataille du Feu (1949), Diary of a Country Priest (1950), Smugglers at the Castle (1951), Les Compagnes de la Nuit (1953), Little Boy Lost (1953), Secret of the Incas (1954), The Constant Husband (1955), The Bold and the Brave (1956), Rogue's Yarn (1957), Me and the Colonel (1958), The House of the Seven Hawks (1959), The Jaywalkers (1959), High Time (1960), Don't Bother to Knock (1961), The Day of the Triffids (1962), The Very Edge (1963), Pleins Feux sur Stanislaus/Killer Spy (1965), Next Time I'll Kill You (1966), Gloria (1977) and Chanel Solitaire (1981), her last film, although she continued to act on TV until the late 1990s. Her one marriage, to actor Jacques Gallo, ended in divorce after 10 years. She died from natural causes.
