Brunette American actress and singer of long-faced, firm-jawed prettiness, a long-lived lady who lived to celebrate her 101st birthday - 100 years after she was carried on set as a babe in arms in Gloria Swanson's Station Content (1918). She continued as a child player: Distilled Love (1920), A Knight of the West (1921), When Love Comes (1922), Abraham Lincoln (1924) and Irene (1926). After a break for education, she returned as a teenager, at first in small parts, but soon as a prairie flower in Gene Autry westerns: Boss Cowboy (1934), Ride 'Em Cowboy (1936), Ghost Town Riders (1938), When the Daltons Rode (1940), the title role in Sierra Sue (1941), Heart of the Rio Grande (1942), Home in Wyomin' (1942), The Singing Sheriff (1944) and Murder in the Music Hall (1946). Later she played a few character roles: Deadline Midnight (1959), Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), The Grip of Fear/Experiment in Terror (1962), The Party (1968) and S.O.B. (1981), her last. A devout Christian Scientist, she died in her sleep.
