Acting appearances in films included those in And Now for Something Completely Different (1971), Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Jabberwocky (1977), Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979), Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl (1981), Monty Python's the Meaning of Life (1983), Erik the Viking (1989), The Wind in the Willows (1996), The Creator (1999), Stranger Than Fiction (2006), The Seventh Python (2008), voices in A Liar's Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python's Graham Chapman (2012) and Absolutely Anything (2015), his last.
