Hard-working brunette (often blonde), attractively long-faced German-born actress in French films, alternately in slinky or sleazy roles. Born Dorothea Feinberg, she made more than 200 films and TV movies over a 70-year period. As a teenager, she was in Hotel du Nord (1938), Battement de Coeur (1939), Nuit de Decembre (1940) and others. Her post-war output included The Fair Angel (1946), Quai des Orfevres (1948), Manon (1950), Pardon My French (1951), Act of Love (1953), Honour Among Thieves (1953), Human Cargo (1954), French Cancan (1954), Napoleon (1955), Nana (1955), Elena et les Hommes (1956), Mademoiselle Striptease (1957), The Young Lions (1958), 125 Rue Montmartre (1959), Cocagne (1961), Any Number Can Win (1963), Pas de Caviare pour Tante Olga (1965), La Liberte en Croupe (1970), Catherine et Cie (1975), Boomerang (1976), Julia (1977), Violette (1978), Les Charlots contre Dracula (1980), That Night in Varennes (1982), Bastille (1984), Maniac Killer (1987), Les Jours de la Lune (1991), L'Enfer (1994), La Femme de l'Italien (1998), Return to Algiers (2000), Comme t'y es Belle! She died after suffering complications from a fall.
