Fair-haired, good-looking Canadian skier (captain of Canada's 1948 Olympic ski team) with a passing resemblance to Fernando Lamas, who became interested in films in his mid twenties, joined M-G-M as a film and dialogue editor, and played a few small acting roles there: An American in Paris (1951), Bad Day at Black Rock (1954), Blackboard Jungle (1955), Tea and Sympathy (1956), Ben-Hur (1959) and Mutiny on the Bounty (1962). He also took a lead role in TV's war series Combat! from 1962 to 1967, then returned to editing for MGM, Paramount and others. Later he was seen in front of the cameras again in The Ski Bum (1971), 43: the Richard Petty Story (1972), Airport '80...The Concorde (1979) and Goodbye, Cruel World (1983), his last. Married to actress Joy Lee, he died following a heart attack.
