Steve Forrest

Actor

Born - 24 September 1924, Huntsville, Texas, USA
Died - 18 May 2013

Big, handsome, square-faced, blond, thin-lipped leading man, younger brother of Dana Andrews. Like his brother, Forrest, born William Forrest Andrews, one of 13 children, had to wait until he was in his early thirties before getting leading roles, though his greatest success came as the star of TV series, notably 30 episodes of the UK thriller show The Baron in 1966 and 1967, and, a decade later, 37 episodes of S.W.A.T. He had made a fleeting debut as a teenager in his brother's film Crash Dive (1943), before war service halted his acting career. Later films included Sealed Cargo (1951), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), So Big (1953), Phantom of the Rue Morgue (1954), Bedevilled (1955), The Living Idol (1957), It Happened to Jane(1959), Flaming Star (1960), The Second Time Around (1961), The Yellow Canary (1963), Rascal (1969), The Wild Country (1970), The Late Liz (1972), North Dallas Forty (1979), Mommie Dearest (1981), Sahara (1983), Spies Like Us (1985), Storyville (1992), Killer: A Journal of Murder (1995) and S.W.A.T. (2003), his last.
