Vivacious, red-headed, narrow-faced glamour star, Miss America of 1952, who quickly turned her hand to acting in decorative roles. Nearly all of her film roles were crammed into a seven-year period, although she continued acting in TV series until she turned 40. Film CV includes House Party (1952), The Mississippi Gambler (1953), Take Me to Town (1953), Veils of Bagdad (1953), Escape to Burma (1955), Son of Sinbad (1955), The Naked Street (1955), Pardners (1956), The D.I. (1957), Eighteen and Anxious (1957), the leading role in The Hot Angel (1958) and A Public Affair (1962), her last. Three times married, to singer/actor Guy Mitchell, actor/director Jack Webb and, latterly, to a businessman for 40 years until his death in 2009. Surname pronounced Lockry.
