Alessandra Panaro

Actress

Born - 14 December 1939, Rome, Italy
Died - 1 May 2019

Sensible-looking Italian actress with corn-coloured hair and brown eyes, much in evidence for a 12-year period in Italian westerns, swashbucklers and muscleman epics. She made films as a teenager - The Boatman of Amalfi (1954), Wild Love (1956), Poor But Beautiful (1957), Adventure in Capri (1959) - but the 1960s were her heyday: Rocco and His Brothers (1960), Les Bacchantes (1961), Peccado de Amor (1961), Son of Captain Blood (1962), The Secret Mark of D'Artagnan (1962), The Executioner of Venice (1963), Hercules vs Moloch (1963), Temple of the White Elephant (1964), Treasure of the Aztecs (1965), Pyramid of the Sun God (1965), 30 Winchesters for El Diablo (1966) and The Farewell Night (1966). Later, she appeared in La Madama (1976) and La Notte e Piccola per Noi (2016), her last. She married (second) actor Giancarlo Sbragia, but he died two years later at 68. Her first husband had also pre-deceased her.
