Born - 16 February 1945, Warrington, Cheshire, UK
Died - 2 January 2011

Bony-featured, confrontational-looking, wirily-built British actor, often seen as scowling villains in films, but capable of a wide range of roles. Other films (at first billed as Peter Postlethwaite) included Occupy! (1976), The Duellists (1977), A Private Function (1984), The Dressmaker (1988), Hamlet (1990), The Last of the Mohicans (1992), The Usual Suspects (1995), William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet (1996), Brassed Off (1996), Jurassic Park (1997), Animal Farm (1999), The Shipping News (2001), View from the Top (2003), The Constant Gardener (2005), Closing the Ring (2007), The Town (2010) and Killing Bono (2011), his last. He died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
