Tall, lanky, light-haired juvenile lead and, later, paella western hero. Born Craig Hill Fowler, he was spotted at a local theatre company and signed by 20th Century-Fox. He played sensitive juveniles and 'second leads' for them over the next five years: Cheaper by the Dozen (1950), All About Eve (1950), Fixed Bayonets! (1951), on loan at Paramount for Detective Story (1951), What Price Glory? (1952), The Outcasts of Poker Flat (1952), The 'I Don't Care' Girl (1953) and The Siege at Red River (1954). Freelancing, he made The Black Shield of Falworth (1954), Anything Goes (1956), Tammy (1957), Hell Bent for Glory (1957), You Have to Run Fast (1961), Deadly Duo (1962), Hector the Stowaway Dog (1964), Hands of a Gunfighter (1965, his first continental western), The Swinger (1966), 7 Pistole per un Massacro (1967), Bury Them Deep (1968), Las Amigas (1969), Assignment Terror (1970), Day of Judgment (1971), And the Crows Will Dig Your Grave (1972), Refuge of Fear (1974), Confessions of Emanuelle (1977), Stigma (1980), Scapegoat (1985), Esmeralda Bay (1989), Deadly Deception (1991), Downtown Heat (1994), The Second Name (2002) and Flying Saucers (2003), his last. He remained in Spain and married Spanish actress Teresa Gimpera.
