Corin Redgrave

Actor

Born - 16 July 1939, London, England
Died - 6 April 2010

Both an actor and political activist, Redgrave was born into a famous acting family, with father Michael and sisters Vanessa and Lynn. Unlike his sisters, the fair-haired, clean-cut Corin didn't demonstrate the strong, distinctive personality to become a star in films, but nonetheless played a number of movie roles in addition to extensive stage work, among them Crooks in Cloisters (1963), A Study in Terror (1965), A Man for All Seasons (1966), The Deadly Affair (1967), Oh! What a Lovely War (1969), When Eight Bells Toll (1971), Excalibur (1981), In the Name of the Father (1993), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Enigma (2001) and The Calling, (2009), his last. Five years earlier, his King Lear at the RSC had been acclaimed as a masterwork. He died from a heart attack, having survived a major attack in 2005. He was married (2nd) to the actress Kika Markham.
