Very tall, swarthy, dark-haired, tree-like American actor of Native American/Mexican heritage. Best remembered as the detective Bill Youngfellow in TV's The Untouchables, he was busy throughout the 1950s after leaving a boxing career behind for the acting game: Second Chance (1953), Alaska Seas (1954), Many Rivers to Cross (1955), Target Zero (1955), The Harder They Fall (1956), The Tijuana Story (1957), Decision at Sundown (1957), The Scarface Mob (1959), Pork Chop Hill (1959), The Age of Violence (1963), Rio Conchos (1964), Apache Uprising (1965), Southwest to Sonora/The Appaloosa (1966), Hondo and the Apaches (1967), Madigan (1968), Topaz (1969). Work was more scarce in later times, although he was also seen in Quicksilver (1986) and Buster's Bedroom (1991), his last.
