Dyanne Thorne

Born - 14 October 1936, Greenwich, Connecticut, YUSA
Died - 28 January 2020

Tigerish, full-bosomed, chestnut-haired, sternly-attractive American star of sexploitation features over a 25-year period. She began in show business as a band singer and glamorous 'stooge' for famous night-club comedians, but it was domineering sex characters, especially in the 'Ilsa' films, that brought her riches and a sliver of iconic fame. The titles, catnip to fans in their day, are often amusingly indicative of their content: Who Was that Lady? (1960), Lash of Lust (1962), Love With the Proper Stranger (1963), Sin in the Suburbs (1964), The President's Analyst (1967), Love Me Like I Do (196), The Erotic Adventures of Pinocchio (1971), Blood Sabbath/Queen of the Witches (1972), The Swinging Barmaids (1974), Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS (1975), Alias Big Cherry (1975), Chesty Anderson US Navy (1976), Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks (1976), Wanda, the Wicked Warden/Greta, the Mad Butcher (1977), Ilsa, the Tigress of Siberia (1977), Up Tours (1979), Hellhole (1965) and Real Men (1987). Much later, she returned to make two more erotic horrors, House of Forbidden Secrets and House of the Witchdoctor, both released in 2013. She married her oft-time co-star Howard Maurer (who survives her); they became ordained, non-denominational church ministers, and conducted outdoor chapel weddings for many years in Las Vegas.
