Lee Aaker

Child actor

Born - 25 September 1943, Inglewood, California, USA
Died - 1 April 2021

Chubbily appealing blond child actor busy in Hollywood films throughout the 1950s, often with featured billing. He did not progress to an adult career, and later struggles with drugs and alcohol were well documented. He died homeless and forgotten, following a massive stroke. Acting from the age of five, he made his film debut in the Oscar-winning half-hour docudrama Benjy (1951). It was followed by 16 movies in the next two years, among them The Atomic City (1952), O Henry's Full House (1952), Desperate Search (1952), Jeopardy (1953), Arena (1953) and Hondo (1953). After that came The Raid (1954), Her Twelve Men (1954) and Destry (1954), followed by six years (and almost 200 episodes) of the boy-and-dog TV series The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. His only remaining films, however, were The Challenge of Rin Tin Tin (1958), Mooncussers (1962) and Bye Bye Birdie (1963).
