Cheery-looking, chubby-cheeked, dark-haired character star who appeared in dozens of fame, but found his greatest fame and acclaim on TV in the long-running Happy Days series, as the father of the family. After early film roles in Call Northside 777 (1947) and The Street with No Name (1948), Bosley started the major part of his movie career in Love with the Proper Stranger (1963), quickly establishing himself in top featured roles. Other movies included The World of Henry Orient (1964), The Secret War of Harry Frigg (1967), Yours, Mine and Ours (1968), Mixed Company (1974), Gus (1976), O'Hara's Wife (1981), Wicked Stepmother (1988), Little Bigfoot 2 (1997), Confession (2005) and The Back-Up Plan (2010), his last. After Happy Days ended its 10-year run in 1984, Bosley found a second TV starring role in The Father Dowling Mysteries, which ran for four seasons until 1991. He died from lung cancer.
