Olympe Bradna

Born - 12 August 1920, Paris, France
Died - 5 November 2012

Pretty, round-faced, dark-haired French-born acrobatic dancer, a Folies Bergere performer at 15. Born Antoinette Olympe Bradna, the daughter of a circus ringmaster, she was performing in her parents' act as soon as she could walk, and became a star attraction with the Folies, with whom she came to America in 1936. Signed by Paramount in the late 1930s she made a dozen acting appearances for them, often in exotic roles, before retiring to marry in 1941. She and her husband celebrated their platinum (70th) wedding anniversary before his death earlier this year. She had made a couple of appearances in French films - Roger la Honte (1933) and Flofloche (1934) before her Hollywood debut in Three Cheers for Love (1936). Subsequent appearances included those in Last Train from Madrid (1937), Souls at Sea (1937), Say It in French (1938), The Night of Nights (1939), South of Pago Pago (1940), Knockout/Right to the Heart (1941) and International Squadron (1941), her last.
