Garry Walberg

Born - 10 June 1921, Buffalo, New York State, USA
Died - 27 March 2012

Stout, flush-faced American character, best remembered in later years with a mop of grey hair and apoplectic temperament, as the police lieutenant much beset by Jack Klugman's Quincy ME on TV. Much in TV series from 1952, the actor, born Garrett Walberg, had a run of cinema films in the late 1960s and 1970s before Quincy's long run consumed much of his middle years. His first film was Gangster Story (1959). Later appearances came in Charro! (1969), Tell Them Willie Boy is Here (1969), They Call Me MISTER Tibbs! (1970), The Organization (1971), The Andromeda Strain (1971), When the Legends Die (1972), Revenge of the Cheerleaders (1975), King Kong (1976), Two-Minute Warning (1976), MacArthur the Rebel General (1977) and Rage (1980). His last feature work was in the TV movie The Odd Couple: Together Again (1993), with his old adversary Klugman. He died from chronic obstructive lung disease.
