Child actor with light, tousled hair, low eyebrows and prominent front-teeth gap, acting from the age of four and quite often seen in science-fiction and fantasy films. Born Charles Herbert Saperstein, he was on screen as early as 1953 in The Long, Long Trailer, although nearly all his part ended up on the cutting-room floor. Later credits include The Night Holds Terror (1955), Secret Interlude (1955), Ransom! (1956), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1956), The Tattered Dress (1957), The Monster That Challenged the World (1957), Houseboat (1958), The Fly (1958), The Colossus of New York (1958), The Man in the Net (1959), The Last Angry Man (1959), The Boy and the Pirates (1960), 13 Ghosts (1960) and The 7th Commandment (1961), his last. although he continued working in TV series until 1968. He died from a heart attack.
