Anna Karen

Actress

Born - 19 September 1936, Durban, South Africa
Died - 22 February 2022

Tall, gawky, brown-haired British comedy actress specialising in ugly ducklings. It's amazing that the actress who played adenoidal Olive, Reg Varney's On the Buses sister on TV and in films, was, in her early twenties, a striptease dancer and fire-eater at London's Panama Club. She turned to acting and was soon busy: He Who Rides a Tiger (1965), The Sandwich Man (1966), Poor Cow (1967), Carry On Camping (1969), Carry On Loving (1970), On the Buses (1971), Mutiny on the Buses (1972), Holiday on the Buses (1973), What's Up Nurse! (1978), Beautiful Thing (1996), Cash in Hand (1998), Possessions (2001), Flick (2008) and No Reasons (2016), her last. Born Ann McCall, she was married for more than 40 years to her second husband, actor Terry Duggan, who passed away in 2008. She died in a house fire.
