Chubby-cheeked, tousle-haired, Irish-raised piano player, man about town, bar owner, actor and (often mildly inebriated) guest on US chat shows. His parents moved back to their native Limerick when McCourt was three and it was only later that he returned to his native US. The brother of author Frank McCourt of Angela's Ashes fame, his (often chaotic) appearances on TV were punctuated by quite a few films: Two for the Seesaw (1962), The Molly Maguires (1969), Montana Trap (1976), The Brink's Job (1978), The Orphan (1979), Q: The Winged Serpent (1982), Brewster's Millions (1985), The January Man (1988), Reversal of Fortune (1990), The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Green Card (1990), She's the One (1995), The Devil's Own (1997), Ten Hundred Kings (2000), Ash Wednesday (2002), Gods and Generals (2003), Ira & Abby (2006), Righteous Kill (2008), The Other Guys (2010), Isn't It Delicious (2013), Humor Me (2017), Toss It (2019) and Nick & Nicky (2022), his last. He is survived by Diana, his (second) wife of 59 years, and five children.
